The Energy Independence & Security Act 2007 went into effect on December 19, 2010. The new law's purpose is to update and improve the nation's energy policies. The law states that begining on December 19, 2010, new manufactured motors must be NEMA Premium Efficiency. There are exceptions to the law and other requirements are in place.
